Description

When people think of feedback, they typically think of developmental feedback, or criticism. But positive feedback, or a compliment, is just as important. Receiving developmental feedback is never easy, but it is absolutely a part of life. Most people receive criticism often in one form or another. For some, the reaction is to get defensive because it's uncomfortable. But receiving positive feedback can be a challenge for many as well. At times, a person may say something awkward in response, diminishing the compliment, or wind up feeling some discomfort.

This downloadable learning guide is designed for Counselors, Youth-Care Professionals, Educators and Parents to work with young children one-on-one or in small groups to help reinforce the social skills of "Accepting Criticism and Compliments." The discussion questions and activities allow children in grades Pre-K through 5th to put themselves in RJ's shoes after reading the storybook, Thanks for the FEEDBACK... (I THINK?)

The Learning Guide is divided into three sections:

    • Questions to ask your child (divided into age groups)
    • More things to do with your child
    • Additional worksheets and skill generalization

Before diving into the sections, read the picture book Thanks for the FEEDBACK... (I THINK?) with your child and/or children.
