Students will exhibit zest by actively participating and making decisions on what items to take to a deserted island.
Start the lesson by leading the class into a discussion with the provided questions. The purpose of this activity is having students practice the steps to making a decision. Some students might struggle with making decisions of any kind. You want to move students from being passive bystanders to active participants in their own life. When students are confident and feel they have some control over daily decisions, they are more likely to possess great amounts of motivation, energy, and anticipation for everyday living. A flipped classroom idea is included at the end of this activity.
This exercise is recommended for grades 4-12.
