Students will practice self-correcting their behavior and take responsibility for their actions with this activity allowing the class to explore the idea that effort, not blaming others, will improve their future. To start off the activity, students will have to think about an actual mistake they've made in the past and come up with as many negative things about the mistake. This is an excellent exercise from Tamara Zentic's, GRIT & Bear It! Activity Guide, to help students understand that mistakes can turn into opportunities.
This exercise is recommended for grades 5-10.
