Description

Baditude vs. Gratitude

There are two types of attitudes that define people in the world... balcony attitudes and basement attitudes. People with balcony attitudes view the world through positive, hopeful, optimistic eyes. These people tend to attract others and usually have lots of friends. People with basement attitudes see only the negative, and are pessimistic in nature. They repel people. Use this activity with your students to help them determine which one they are. Students will develop a better understanding of attitude and how one's attitude might affect others!

This exercise is from Julia Cook's Responsible Me! Activity Guide and is recommended for grades 2-5.

Materials needed:

    • Baditude storybook (recommended)
    • "Basement Attitudes/Balcony Attitudes" worksheet (provided as a PDF)
    • "Basement vs. Balcony" worksheet (provided as a PDF)
    • Paper and pencil

An email address must be provided to obtain the activity!
