Use these engaging downloadable activities to reinforce the lessons taught in the storybook, When Sophie’s Sorry Wasn’t Enough.
The activities are best suited for children ages 5-11.
The Six Downloadable Activities include:
- Activity 1 – My Prized Possession – Students cultivate a sense of empathy for their peers by drawing and discussing their most treasured items and how they would feel if they were lost or destroyed. Activity Handout provided.
- Activity 2 – What’s in a Name? – Students explore what their nicknames say about who they are. Additionally, students brainstorm what they need to do to obtain a nickname they desire. Activity Handout provided.
- Activity 3 – Making it Right – Students identify ways to take responsibility for their mistakes beyond apologizing. Discussion Cards provided.
- Activity 4 – Appropriate Apologies – Students brainstorm ways to sincerely apologize.
- Activity 5 – Trash it or Recycle it – Students learn to identify instances of responsible behavior. Activity Cards/Handout provided.
- Activity 6 – Leave it Better than You Found it - Students learn the skill of respecting their surroundings. Activity Handout provided.
