The downloadable activities offered will give students in grades K through 5 a better understanding that fear and anxiety is something we all live with. Help students identify positive thinking, practice acknowledging their worries and learn how to control them. Worksheets, discussion topics and group activities will reinforce the message from the storybook, Freddie and Friends: Becoming Unstuck.
Five Downloadable Activities include:
- Activity 1 - FLIP your Worry Fill in the Blank - Students will gain practice “flipping” a worry by providing a positive “pop” for a worry that Freddie and friends faced in the story.
- Activity 2 - Worry FLIP Practice - Part of facing your worries is being able to identify how they make you feel, and the things they make you believe (that aren’t true). This worksheet will help students practice both of these identification skills.
- Activity 3 - Draw and FLIP a Worry - Putting a face to a worry help takes away its power. By having students draw their worry they will practice acknowledging it so they can flip it away.
- Activity 4 - Throw Out Your Worry Airplane - Sometimes, the best thing to do with a worry is to physically toss it out. This activity will give students that practice.
- Activity 5 - Truth or Worry Bug Lie? - Worries sometimes cause us to think untruthful things about ourselves or someone else. This activity helps students identify the difference between a worry lie and the truth.
Freddie and Friends: Becoming Unstuck is part of the popular Freddie the Fly book series and is recommended for these activities.
